But relentless sewage dumping by water companies has left a number of beaches in a sorry state.
Sewage overflows often happen after heavy rainfall, which leads to the system being overwhelmed and forced to release untreated water to avoid waste backing up.
In January Anglian Water was slapped with a £510,000 fine after raw sewage was discharged into a river for 23 hours killing 5,000 fish, according to the Environment Agency.
And this incident was not an isolated one with 22 beaches in total affected.
There are are a number of beaches across England which people should look to avoid as the water quality was so poor.
Long considered one of Britain's most attractive seaside locations, Blackpool beach is currently one of the most polluted.
And the beautiful beaches of Cornwall are not free from sewage discharge.
Instow beach and Rock beach in Cornwall could cause problems for those taking a dip in the sea.
Anyone who swims in polluted water can fall ill if they digest the water, as well as suffer from skin infections.
Clacton Beach in Essex is another picturesque location where holidaymakers have been advised not to head to.
While the River Wharfe in Ilkley is also one of England's most dangerous beaches to swim in.
Professor Becky Malby of Ilkley Clean River Group told the Wharfedale Observer that the river had become a "public health hazard".
And the government have reported that Weston-super-Mare's beach has ben polluted thanks to combined effort from dogs, seabirds and a nearby sewage treatment works.
Three sandy hotspots in Devon are also deemed unsafe to swim in while four Yorkshire beaches have been badly affected.
Brits instead need to head to a Blue Flag beach in the UK, which is awarded the status for a number of reasons including no sewage discharge.
There are currently 80 of these beaches found in England.
It comes as Surfers Against Sewage published an interactive map which tracks real-time sewage overflows and pollution risk forecasts.
The handy tool monitors the water quality at over 400 locations around UK rivers and coastlines.
Southern Water was fined a record £90 million for deliberately pumping 16 to 21 billion litres of sewage into the sea between 2010 and 2015.
And in 2020, more than 100 beaches had a sewage warning following heavy rain.
Thousands of Brits head to the gorgeous Indonesian Island of Bali each year.
The holiday hotspot is known for its stunning beaches, nature, relaxing yoga retreats and cheap, delicious food and drinks.
There are plenty of outstanding Airbnbs and hotels in Bali – and lots of tourists are blown away by the snorkelling and boat trips on offer.

Ancient temples, tropical jungles, monkeys and more only add to the beauty and mystique of the island.
However, it seems that a number of holidaymakers have been badly behaved while travelling on the Indonesian island.
This month, influencer Luiza Kosykh was arrested after taking photos with an ancient – and sacred – paperbark tree.
She caused uproar by stripping naked and pressing her body to the enormous tree.
Meanwhile last year, Instagram star Alina Fazleeva also shared nude images herself at the site of Kayu putih and was deported from Indonesia.
Other tourists have also been criticised for being too drunk, getting naked in public and road accidents.
Now, the Balinese Regional Office of Ministry of Law and Human Rights has revealed that tourists will be given a “guidebook” when landing in Bali.
It will provide instructions on how to dress and act while in the holiday hotspot.
Australians are the most common tourists in Bali but Brits still choose the island when looking for a long-haul trip.
Over one million holidaymakers head to Bali each year with locals now complaining about the increasing number of tourists breaking rules and customs.
Despite its laidback attitude, Bali is a predominantly Muslim country.
Anggiat Napitupulu, head of the Regional Office of Ministry of Law and Human Rights announced the guidebook on Sunday.
He told The Bali Sun: "It needs to be known that not all foreigners know what things are allowed and not allowed in Bali. We hope to accelerate the completion of the guidebook or guidance book.”
The guide will provide an introduction to the culture and customs of the area as well as road rules and instructions on clothing, sacred sites and landmarks.
The manual is part of a wider campaign to restore Indonesia’s image and is funded by the government.

In the latest blow to British tourists - who have already been discouraged from travelling to Spain - Amsterdam has also issued a warning.
The Netherlands city, which is famous for its Red Light District and legal cannabis cafes, is looking to limit sex-fuelled parties and rowdy behaviour.
In an effort to do this, the Dutch capital has launched a campaign to discourage undesirable tourists from holidays in the area.

It has begun by targeting young boozy Brits.
Amsterdam’s officials have already put many new rules in place to fight against the swathes of stag and hen dos and booze weekenders causing havoc in the city.
These include forcing brothels to shut their doors during certain times of the day and night.
Plus, alcohol can no longer be sold in some areas outside of designated times.
The city’s new campaign is called “Stay Away” which shows people seeing special warnings when searching online for specific terms such as “pub crawl Amsterdam” and “Stag Party Amsterdam.”
Amsterdam’s City Council said: “The campaign will commence in Great Britain, aimed at males in the age category of 18 to 35 years.
“This online discouragement campaign is aimed at nuisance tourists who want to visit Amsterdam to ‘go wild’, with all the ensuing consequences.”
Brits may feel embarrassed or angry by the announcement, as they did were when Lanzarote president María Dolores Corujo said the island wanted to attract “higher quality” German tourists rather than British ones.
The warning ads may also be expanded to “potential nuisance-causing visitors from the Netherlands and other EU-countries” later in the year.
But, for now, it’s British lads on the lash that are being targeted.
Claims state that the advert warnings would show the “risks and consequences of anti-social behaviour and excessive drug and alcohol abuse”.
Cafes, bars and sex clubs have already been given earlier closure times along with cannabis being banned in the Red Light District.
The government may even move the legal-prostitution area outside of the city centre at some point in coming years.

Holidaymakers who choose to stay at Hedonism II in Negril are in for the trip of a lifetime, especially if they're into nudism or swinging.
The resort truly lives up to its name with a jam-packed programme that includes everything from "sexy seminars" to "nude pool games" and parties.

Hedonism is a clothing-optional adults only resort which dubs itself "the sexiest place on Earth".
As with other hotels, you’ll be treated to stunning rooms, world-class dining and five bars with plenty of cocktails to go around.
But, you and other guests will also be in for a "wild" week away thanks to the additional "erotic" offerings in place.
There’s nightly entertainment featuring sexy themed nights including a"sexy terrestrial glow rave" and "fetish leather and lingerie" costume parties.
There’s an on-site night club and plenty of shows from sexy acrobatics to burlesque dancers in milk baths.
Plus, Hedonism offers special group events including "casual swinger’s week" as well as "pussycat" sex parties, while "Princess week" celebrates the women at Hedonism.
On top of specialist weeks, there are a number of naughty things to get up to while at the resort.
The website boasts of 'speed dating" as well as "hotter than ever entertainers' and even a "boozy egg hunt" over Easter.
Inside Hedonism II there are also plenty of cheeky activities to get up to – but none are quite as attention-grabbing as "the Playroom".
Staffed by "playroom hostesses" the room is open to couples, single women and invited single men, with guests expected to participate in swinging, as the experience is "not just for watching".
However, you must only join in with others if you are “invited to do so”.
The Playroom features all kinds of sex kit including beds, showers, a sex swing and bench as well as chains and even a cross you can be tied to.
On top of being able to head to the Playroom for kinky fun between 10pm and 3am there’s a space for when you feel the mood hit you outside of these times.
The "Happening Hut" is an unstaffed room open 24 hours a day where you can hide away for some cheeky activity.
There's even "threesome rooms" where three guests can share a bedroom – but, it has to be two people of one sex and a third of the opposite sex.
The room rate will be as normal plus $175 (£142) a night for the third person.
On top of the raunchy rooms there are pools and hot tubs for everyone.
Three freshwater pools are open at Hedonism, but there’s also a swim-up bad which you can access naked from the "nude side" and clothed from the "prude side".
There’s also a hot tub for the 'prudes' who want to wear swimwear and one for the 'nudes' who don’t.
On top of this there’s a waterfall lagoon, beachfront tool and cascading plunge pools.
You can also experience Jamaica’s waters through scuba diving, snorkelling, catamaran rides and kayaks.
When on land you can enjoy tennis, volleyball, shuffleboard, table tennis, a gaming lounge, reading room and fitness centre.
Plus, there’s the 'Kama Sutra Palace" which has reopened after closing in the pandemic.
From April to July you can "discover the ancient secrets of the art of Love, Eroticism, Desire and Sensual Massage".
There are multiple workshops in the palace to teach you all about pleasure and intimacy as well as tantric massage and lessons on "tantric lovemaking".

Amalfi Coast, Italy
Well we’ve been spotting Italy all over our feeds with cities and towns with many heading west to Naples, Sorrento, Amalfi and Capri winning us over with their charming buildings and pretty fishing boats.

Australian Tammy, who has 15.4m followers, @tammyhembrow, headed off to sink her toes into the white sand beaches of the Maldives with her fiancé and children at the beginning of the year.
In one photo Tammy and her family all crowded in front of the infinity pool which stood against the stunning Indian Ocean.
She wore silky outfits and tucked into a beachside breakfast of pastries and dinners of caviar and seafood.
The couple ate at a treehouse table for one meal which stood above the palm trees and boasted incredible views.
And, Tammy’s room was filled with every luxury you could want – from a bath that looked straight onto the water, to a private swimming pool a swinging bench.

And they shared snaps of themselves reclining and eating fresh fruit plates on poolside sun loungers with spotless white linens and clear water beneath them.
They ate plenty of pasta while standing in the pool and even showed themselves dining underwater.
Lele took a bite out of a watermelon slice in the pool while grapes, coffee and champagne can be seen sitting on an aquatic table.

Saint Tropez, French Riviera
Saint Tropez is known for being a place for the rich and famous, so, Jack Maynard, brother to Connor Maynard, might just fit in.
The sandy-haired YouTuber and DJ shared a series of shots with Lily Mackie – his girlfriend and Pippa Middleton’s millionaire heiress niece.
The young duo were shown smiling on towels in the sand sipping wine under the bright blue skies.
Jack showed himself cruising in the water aboard a boat – which is the only way to do Saint Tropez – and in front of an enormous yacht.

Menorca and Portugal
A more familiar destination for most of us is Menorca, in the Balearic Islands of Spain, and Portugal, off the coast of Western Europe.
Influencer and fitness lover Daisy Keech decided to catch some rays in the blue waters of Brit favourite Menorca.
She shared a cheeky snap of herself in a white shirt and bikini bottoms in a garden that flashed her peachy butt, as well as plenty of snaps of herself shopping in a pretty yellow dress at a bakery and grocers.

A couple who loves being fully naked decided to visit the largest “nudist city” in the word for their romantic honeymoon.
Cap D’Adge is a somewhat controversial French city by the seaside on the Mediterranean coast where people are permitted to live their lives fully nude.
Considered the most liberal destination in the world, the nudist area goes beyond ordinary beaches.
In this French city, people can walk naked through banks, supermarkets, restaurants, hairdressers, bakeries, and more without a single piece of kit on.
Every summer, the city receives more than 50,000 tourists from all over the world with the majority being French, Belgian, German, Italian, American, Dutch and Canadian.
And, while Brazilians are not known to be common at the resort, it’s the dream destination for one frisky couple from the sunny country.
Arthur O Urso and Luana Kazaki chose Cap D’Agde as the number one destination for their honeymoon.
They noted: “Couples should look for new experiences early in their marriage and not let it cool off!”
The duo work as relationship coaches to help other marriages survive lockdown.
Plus, they make a whopping £56,000 on OnlyFans sharing videos and snaps of themselves getting hot and heavy.
They added: "We teach everything through the platform, from different positions to even encouraging couples to go swinging.
"Many did not know or were afraid of the techniques, but our tips made couples get closer at home."
But, after getting married, they headed off to the nudist city as a way to keep their relationship fresh and steamy!
They commented: “The city was elected the capital of sex and the experience is worth starting a marriage with adventures and new things, in addition to pleasure.

Despite being a liberal city, which allows nudity, public sex is forbidden in Cap D’Adge.
You can be fined up to €15,000 (£12,860) if you are caught doing something inappropriate.
The tourist complex has a special entrance and is closed to the outer public as there is a fee required to stay in Cap D’Adge.
For a couple to stay in the nudist colony for seven days you'll have to pay a fee of around £51 on top of hotel and food costs.
Arthur and Luana said: “We are going to stay the seven days to enjoy the Honeymoon and capture information for our documentary.”

Porn star Angela White recalled the time she had sex with a fan – which took a very creepy turn.
The Australian OnlyFans legend appeared on the Under The Influence podcast where she recalled meeting the admirer at a convention, who offered her his number.
"I didn’t really have any thoughts that I would contact him," she recalled.

"We went back to the apartment and the sketchbook never came out. As soon as we walked through the door we were making out, fooling around."
But the stunning star said it wasn't long before the red flags appeared when the man tried to have sex with her without protection, even though she had condoms.
The strange behaviour continued when the pair were midway through the act and she noticed he wasn't looking at her.

"I was like, 'That was it.'"
Angela, who has filmed more than 900 sex scenes over the course of her career, added she might have let the man film her for OnlyFans if he'd asked for consent, but was annoyed he was taking photos or filming without her knowledge.
"Instead of connecting with me, you’re just trying to get footage to show off to your friends," she added.
